Awkwafina

Awkwafina began as an American performer and rapper, releasing sly tracks that tackled topics like racial or sexual identity with a comedic twist. Prior to her move into Hollywood her career, she could perform a variety of tracks. Nora Lum began her musical career as a musician on the trumpet. Her birthplace was Forest Hills Queens, she was the child of Chinese immigrants as well as Koreans. Also, she received classical and jazz training later when she began to explore hip-hop as a teenager. When she was in the college years, she remained focused on her studies and studied women's studies and journalism. For a brief period of time in Beijing, Mandarin language classes were offered as well. She turned her attention towards music after she finished her studies. The year 2012 saw My Vag (as a retort to Mickey Avalon's My Dick) became an online hit, and it was featured in her debut LP Yellow Ranger. The album featured other viral hits like the body-positive Queef and the winking tour of her hometown NYC BitcheUSD. This latter song was directly tied to Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide for 2015, which was a travel guide. A musician and author was as her credentials, she began looking for acting in a third project. She has appeared in films such as Neighbors 2 Storks, and Bad Rap. Her breakout roles included Dude Ocean's 8 along with Crazy Rich Asians. Her EP came out, in Fina We Trust in June of that year.
