AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player. She plays as a striker and captains for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), the highest level of women's professional soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team along with Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe between 2018 to 2020. [8][9] Morgan was drafted as the number one player in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she completed her degree early at the University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. Morgan made her debut at the club and was instrumental in helping the team win its league championship. Morgan was 22, at the time was the youngest athlete in the national team at the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, where the team finished as runners-up. Morgan scored the match-winning goal in the match against Canada in the 123rd minute of the semi-final match at the 2012 London Olympics. She was able to finish 2012 with 21 goals and 28 assists, joining Mia Hamm as the only American woman to score 20 goals and score 20 assists within the same year, becoming the sixth the youngest U.S. player to score 20 goals in a single season. The following year, she was named U.S. Soccer Female Athlete Of The Year and was also a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan helped to help the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was also named to the Dream Team. In 2019, Morgan won the Silver Boot.
